Sensei Richmond has been training in Araki Mujinsai Ryu Iaido for about 15 years.  He began in 1987, trained for two years, returned in 2003, and has been training ever since.  He has been teaching Iaido for over 6 years.

Sensei Richmond began also training in Shotokan Karate-do in 2012, and has attained the rank of Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt).

In 2015, Sensei Richmond was invited to participate in the Taikai in Himeji Japan, which occurs every 5 years.  He was one of about 10 students that were invited to represent the USA.  Afterwards, he stayed in Japan and trained for a week with some of the highest ranking instructors in his style.  In his free time he likes to go to church on Sundays, and to read Science Fiction, Fantasy, Politics, and History on every day of the week.
