Kancho Marquez started his martial arts training in 1995 and earned Dan ranks (Black Belts) in Yoshitsune Jujutsu and Hokko Denshin Ryu Jujutsu. He trained with Sensei Gil Adams for 14 years. After participating in a seminar with Soke Irie Yasuhiro, he started training in Kokodo Jujutsu, under the instruction of Hanshi Michael Seamark (8th Dan), ultimately achieving the rank of Kancho and Godan (5th Degree Black Belt).
Shihan Marquez makes regular visits to train with senior instructors in Vancouver, BC and in Japan.
