* The purpose of the Karate Application class is to examine the principles passed down through Shotokan kata in relation to practical self-defense in close combat situations.  Two person drills, flow drills, limb control and grappling will be explored along with hojo undo (conditioning) training.

Early Morning (5:30-6:30 or 6:30-7:30 am) 
Mid-Morning (10-11 am or 11-12)
and Lunchtime (12-1 pm) classes forming now

Students are progressively introduced to and trained in the kihon (basic exercises), kata (fighting forms), and bunkai (controlled partner training) applications of:

  • Rokushaku Bo (six foot wooden staff)
  • Sai (three-pronged sword)
  • Tunqua (police baton)
  • Nunchaku (two sticks joined by rope)
  • and more!
